Props - For the props all we will really need is a phone for the begging scene and a football but apart from that we dont really need anything else.
Costume - For the costume we need hoodies for the gang but apart from them we dont need any other costume.

Genre Examples
Kidulthood is very similar
to the idea out group has had, Kidulthood is about a 15 year old boy who hangs
out with the wrong people and and gets in trouble because of it. This relates
to our film because it has a similar story line and is the same genre.
Mise En Scene - the
costume in Kidulthood is what you would expect to see in a Street Crime Drama
the costume is very similar to what the gang members in our film will be
wearing so that’s hoodies, hats, trackie bottoms. We won’t be using props in
our two minuet but in Kidulthood they are using props that suit the genre of
the film so knives and guns. The setting of Kidulthood is set in a London
estate in dark, gloomy places and that’s what we have tried to create in out
movie.
Sound - The dialog
and how the people speak is what we want our gang members to talk like, as that
is what teenagers that are from estates in London speak like.
Camera - Because our
film will include chase scenes we will included many different shots like long
shots, medium close ups ect and in the film Kidulthood they use these
techniques in there action
scenes.
Lighting- The lighting
in Kidulthood is very gloomy and dark this represents poor, rough and places associated
with crime, this is what we would try to represent in our film.
Characters - The
characters in Kidulthood are quite similar to ours as there teenagers effected
by crime and gang violence, our main character fits the representation when you
think of this particular genre.
Bullet Boy is also
very similar to out film as the story line as sees him get in trouble with a
gang. So the story line of this example will be very similar to ours but ours
characters will be younger than the ones in bullet boy.
Mise En Scene - The
costume is very much the same as what we would be using with the gang members,
out gang members will be mainly wearing hoodies which is seen in bullet boy a
lot they will also have their hoods up, The setting of bullet boy is also similar
to what we’re aiming for with the blocks of flats, alley ways, woods etc, We won’t
really be using props apart from a phone but typically in a this genre you
would expect guns, knives and baseball bats.
Sound - Again the dialog
and how the people speak are similar to Kidulthood and what we want in our
film.
Camera - Like
Kidulthood and our film they use the camera to show the action in detail.
Characters - The main
similarity of the characters is out main character and Bullet Boys main
character there is always normally a main character that gets involved in a bad
situation in this particular genre like getting involved with a gang or
angering a gang.
Codes and Convenstions
The costume that out actors will represent what you stereotypical think of when watching a crime thriller so they will be wearing hoodies tracky bottoms, the setting will also represent our genre as we will be filming in certain locations that you would typically see in a crime thriller. An example pf these would be Kidulthood as they wear trackie bottoms and hoodys and the setting is rundown and represents the genre. The lighting we plan to use in the flashbacks is dark and gloomy this is a common lighting technique in crime thrillers. we will try to film our film in dark allays ect because thats normally what you would see in a crime thriller. We wont really be using props such as knives which is what you would normally expect in this genre the only prop we will use is a phone. Normally in a crime thriller if it involves teenagers they will talk with a slang and we will try to use words they use in our film.
Genre Choice
My group has choosen to do a crime thriller, we have choosen to do this partcular genure because we feel that the younger generation would rather see a crime thriller than a horror, Also the area around the school as lots of good places to film scenes that repersent our genure.

Prelim Evaluation
I feel that are prelim
went very well, We filmed, edited, and uploaded it to my blog on
time. I feel we used the shot types correctly and used a wide verity
of them. The feedback we got from the group that looked at the
finished prelim very positive, But they did suggest some ways we
could improve the final piece one of the main thing they said was to
give the characters more of an introduction in who they are as the
clip did not show this. But overall they were very positive and
commented on how good are colour scene was and how it added drama to
the clip. On all of the sheets all the boxes were ticked apart from
one box which was to focus on mise on scene more.
